Mar. 30, 2018: Good Friday, which marks the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, was observed today with solemnity and religious ardour. Devotees took part in large number in the Way of the Cross held at 7:30 a.m., 9:00 a.m. and at 11a.m.
The evening ceremony of the Good Friday began at 6 p.m. During the ceremony, the passion was sung. Rev Fr Johnson Sequeira, ast parish priest who led the ceremony preached a befitting homily. In his preaching, he highlighted the stark contrast between the Divine love and human injustice. He also invited everyone to take up the life’s crosses and follow Jesus, by living a life of forgiveness.
Soon after the Homily, prayers for various intentions were offered. The cross was venerated followed by the distribution of Holy Communion. Faithful gathered went home in silence reflecting the death of our Lord.
