Nov.30, 2018: The Nine days Novena of the Feast of Our Lady of Pompeii was inaugurated today at the Shrine of Pompeii in the presence of her devotees, who gathered in large numbers. A brief prayer service was held at the Shrine consisting of incensing the statue, reading the Word of God followed by the reflection. Thereafter, the statue of Our Lady of Pompeii was carried in procession to the Church.
Rev Fr Clifford Fernandes Parish Priest of Jeppu Church was the main celebrant. In his homily, he enunciated the theme of the day “Through service we can be the salt of the earth". Novena prayers were offered towards the end of the Eucharistic Celebration. Priests laid their hands and prayed for everyone gathered in the Church for the Novena. Rev Fr Stany Pereira, Parish Priest, Rev Fr Jason Lobo, Asst parish priest, Vice President Mr. Francis Saldanha, Secretary Mrs. Lucy D’Souza were present.
