Nov.29, 2019: The Nine days Novena of the Feast of Our Lady of Pompeii was inaugurated on 29th November at the Shrine of Pompeii in the presence of her devotees, who gathered in large numbers. A brief prayer service was held at the Shrine. Thereafter a religious flag was hoisted as the symbol of begining of the novena. Thereafter, all the devotees went to the church in a procession for the Holy Eucharist.
Rev Fr Boniface Pinto was the main celebrant. In his homily, he enunciated the theme of the day “Jesus is Friend of children". Novena prayers were offered towards the end of the Eucharistic Celebration. Priests laid their hands and prayed for everyone gathered in the Church for the Novena. Rev Fr Stany Pereira, Parish Priest, Rev Fr Jason Lobo, Asst parish priest, Vice President Mr. Francis Saldanha, Secretary Mrs. Lucy D’Souza were present.
