Sacrament of Confirmation is leading the Christian toward a more intimate union with Christ and a more lively familiarity with the Holy Spirit – his actions, his gifts, and his biddings – in order to be more capable of assuming the apostolic responsibilities of Christian life... 76 of our youngsters were eagerly waiting to become the Soldiers of Christ. Finally the day dawned at Urwa Church on May 27th 2016. Most Rev. Dr. Aloysius Paul D’Souza, Bishop of Mangalore arrived at 5.p.m Fr Stany Pereira, Parish Priest, Fr Amith Rodrigues Asst Parish Priest, Fr Valerian Rodrigues , Sr Celine Veera, Superior of Convent, Mrs Jenny Mathias, Secretary of Parish pastoral parishad, members of Parish pastoral parishad, confirmandi and all the parishioners welcomed the Bishop wholeheartedly. Bishop held a short catechism for confirmandi as well as parishioners which was followed by the Holy Eucharist celebrated by the Bishop.  After the Homily Bishop administered the sacrament of confirmation to 76 youngsters.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

After the mass the Bishop distributed prizes to those who secured highest marks in confirmation exam and confirmation certificate to the confirmed. The Bishop congratulated all new soldiers of Christ and appreciated the parents for forming their children in faith and exhorted them to have a continuous gaze at them, so that they are not led astray.
