Fr Johnson Lawrence Sequeira, erstwhile asst. parish priest of Bantval Modankap Church, was given a warm welcome to Urwa Church as he arrived as the new asst. parish priest on 6.6.2016 by the Parish Clergy and Parishioners of Urwa. Fr Johnson was welcomed at the main entrance of the church who arrived along with V. Rev. Fr. Maxim Noronha, the Parish Priest of Bantval-Modankap church and Vicar Vara of Bantval deanery, Fr J.B. Moras and Fr Kiran Pinto, Parish clergy of Bantval Church, a few other priests, Mr Lidwin Sequeira, his mother, his family members, the Vice President and Bantval parishioners.
Fr Amith Rodrigues conducted a prayer service. A short stage programme was held thereafter. The Secreatry, Mrs Jenny Mathias, welcomed the gathering and compered the programme, Fr Stany Pereira, the parish priest, in his words, extended warm welcome to the new asst. parish priest. Mr Hilary D’Souza briefly explained the history of Urwa Church. Fr Maxim gave an introduction on Fr Johnson appreciating his person and service to Bantval Church. Fr Johnson in his reply to the welcome extended to him assured of his possible service to the Church as assistant parish priest.
The Urwa Parish Council members, The Superior and sisters of The Annunciation Convent, Lady hill, and the Urwa parishioners were present. The guests were offered refreshment at the basement hall at the end.
