June 12, 2016: The New Sunday Catechism year of 2016-17 was inaugurated symbolically during children’s mass at 9:30 am today. Rev Fr Stany Pereira, parish priest led the ceremony. The catechism teachers lit their candles from the paschal candle symbolising that they too are part of catechising the children along with the parish clergy. The teachers handed over the candles to the children to highlight that the significance of teachers in disseminating the catechism of faith to the children. Later, teachers pledged their commitment to the ministry of catechising children. Files of each class were distributed by Mr Hilary D’Souza and Ms Jeneview Matthias to the respective class teachers.
